This breast size chart connects your measurements to your cup letter. Rows are the difference between bust and underbust; columns are what each of six sizing systems calls that difference. One table, every dialect.
Where our bra size chart lists finished sizes by band and cup, this breast size chart focuses on the measurement-to-letter relationship — the reference you want when you know your numbers and need to know what to call them.
Quick answer
A breast size chart maps measurements to cup letters: each row is a bust minus underbust difference and each column a sizing system. A 3-inch (7.5 cm) difference is a C cup in all six systems; a 5-inch difference is DD in the UK but E in EU, FR/ES and JP — the key divergence this chart makes visible.

The breast size chart across six systems
Read the table below by difference: find your bust minus underbust value in the left column and read across for each system's letter. The ladders agree from AA through D, then fork — UK inserts its double letters (DD, FF, GG), US runs DD and DDD, and the continental systems continue with single letters only. This is the single most useful fact a breast size chart can teach.
Switch units at the top for inches or centimetres. The ranges use each system's own step conventions, exactly as our sizing engine computes them — no smoothed averages.
How to use this breast size chart
Take two measurements: the bust at its fullest point and the underbust snug beneath the root, both with a level tape. Subtract underbust from bust and locate the difference in the chart. That row is your cup letter; pair it with the band your underbust resolves to (one band column of the bra size chart) and you have a complete size.
A worked example: underbust 34 in, bust 37 in — a three-inch difference. The breast size chart says C in every column; the band half says 34; the full size is 34C (US/UK), 75C (EU), 90C (FR/ES), 12C (AU/NZ), C75 (JP).
Breast size is a relationship, not a number
A breast size chart works because breast size, in bra terms, is relational: the letter describes how much the bust exceeds the ribcage beneath it. The same bust measurement is a B on a 36 ribcage and a D on a 32 ribcage. That is why this page never asks for your bust alone — and why our bust converter page insists on both numbers before estimating anything.
It also means breast volume grows with the band at a constant letter: a 38C is more breast than a 32C, visibly and measurably. Charts that imply one letter equals one fixed volume — including many "breast size chart with pictures" pages — skip this mechanics entirely.
From chart to size to fit
The chart gives you candidates; your body elects the winner. After reading your letter, run the full measurements through the calculator for a six-system starting size, then apply the four fit checks from the bra fit guide: level band, anchored gore, smooth cups, quiet straps.
Keep the breast size chart bookmarked for cross-border shopping — it is the fastest way to sanity-check that a foreign label matches the volume you wear at home.
Using the breast size chart while shopping
Keep the breast size chart open in a second tab when you shop international brands. When a site lists its size table, compare its letters against the chart difference rows: if the brand C covers a different range than the chart C row, you have caught a vanity-sized or conversion-shifted label early — and you know which row of the breast size chart to shop by instead.
The chart also settles the classic online argument — is a DD huge? — in one glance: a DD is five inches of difference, one step past D, and smaller than a UK E. Numbers end debates that adjectives cannot, and a breast size chart you can read at a glance turns every product page into a verifiable claim. Bookmark the breast size chart next to the calculator and you have the full reference stack for any brand, any border, any checkout.
Frequently asked questions
What is a breast size chart?
A table that maps the difference between your bust and underbust measurements to cup letters, usually across several national systems. This breast size chart shows US, UK, EU, FR/ES, AU/NZ and JP columns side by side. One glance at a breast size chart ends most label confusion.
How do I read my breast size from measurements?
Subtract your snug underbust from your fullest bust and find that difference in the chart's left column. The row gives your cup letter; combine it with the band from your underbust for a complete size.
Why do UK and EU letters differ on this chart?
Because the UK inserts double letters after D — DD before E — while continental ladders use single letters only. The same five-inch difference is UK DD and EU E.
Can a breast size chart work with one measurement?
No. Cup letters encode a difference, so a bust measurement alone cannot produce one. You need the underbust as the baseline.
Is this the same as a bra size chart?
Related but different: the bra size chart lists finished sizes by band and cup, while the breast size chart maps measurements to letters. Together they cover the whole path from tape to label. The breast size chart is the measuring half of that path.
How accurate is a breast size chart?
The measurement-to-letter mapping is exact per system; real-world fit adds brand patterning and breast shape. Use the chart for candidates and fit checks for the final call. Accuracy is why a breast size chart beats guessing letters.
Can I compare brands with the breast size chart?
Yes — that is its best use. Line a brand published table against the breast size chart difference rows and any shift becomes visible before you order. A breast size chart turns brand claims into checkable rows.
